Hey Greg, yeah thats what I was doing just got it all done now lol! I put 52Liters in for 550km. This is what I came up with 27 miles/gallon(UK) = 22.482203 miles/gallon(US) = 10.4622569 liters/100 km.

I think you're still alittle wrong, you're at 9.45 L/100km which is 24.9mpg.... (52/5.5, not 55/5.2))
But, you got that on a road trip right? Not everyday driving? (remember these trucks are rated 18-19mpg hwy, which is a stretch depending on how long drives are).
Best i've hit is 11.8l/100km... i bet i can hit 10.5-11 on a road trip....

I live out in the country don't have to stop, accelerate that much. Maybe we can hit each other up this summer and go for a road trip haha. Ok this is what I am getting 43.696 liter = 11.543 262 gallon and 340 kilometer = 211.266 205 36 mile. So 19mpg which is not bad considering I am running it in the morning for 15 mins. And I still had over a 1/4 of tank left too. Sounds right eh?

Hey Dew(de) (sorry, trying to make a funny, LOL) sign up on www.sontt.com it's our ontario toyota forum. There are always meets and such.

You are at 12.85 l/100km = 18.3046368 miles per gallon

Basically, take 43.7L, 340km, then divide both by 3.4 to get the km to 100, so 43.7/3.4 = 12.85 L, 100km. (then i type 12.85l/100lm to mpg in google, and it spits out the MPG)

Mileage seems about right for your driving. Not bad at all!

Hey guys I'm terrible at this conversion thing but as far as I can tell, I'm getting insanely bad gas mileage. I live in Canada. Saskatchewan to be exact. ( probably the coldest and ˟˟˟˟tiest place in Canada, a week ago it was -46 degrees celcius ) lots of snow and ice and i only use 4x4 to start at red lights, stop signs, ice. Anyway $56 gets me a full tank, pure city driving I get about 330 kms until the gas light comes on. thats with a 5-10 min warm up period when I start my car every time I drive. but I'm reading on here that ppl are getting 300 MILES and more to a tank... 1998 sr5 auto. 275/75 tires.

- recent oil change, air filter looks decent...little dirt spots but nothing extreme.

Convert Km to miles, multiply by 0.62
How many gallons/liters on your fuel receipt when you fill up?

I've been keeping track since buying this T4R 3 months ago and fill the tank at an average of 265 miles indicated (426km), well into the fuel light coming on. Average gallons to fill at that point have been 14.8. The tank holds 18.5 according to the manual.

Do you have stock size tires? A 265/75r16 makes a 3.3% impact on actual distance/speed traveled compared to the stock size 265/70r16. When I factor that 3.3% into the fuel economy, it's worth about one half of one MPG.

example (all city):
266.4 miles / 14.823 gallons = 17.972mpg
factor 3.3% bigger tires = 17.972 * 1.033 = 18.565mpg

My truck is a 5-speed 3.4 with 176,xxx miles

It's been a crazy winter here in Denver with only 1/3 the average seasonal snowfall to date. Temperatures in January have varied from -5°f to +57°f (-20c to 14c).

I've been doing horrible lately... It's been super cold/snowy out here in MT, so I've been warming the car up, always driving in 4hi, and all city driving from home to campus and back. Averaged ~10 mpg, im sure credited partially to winter fuel blends

Considering the conditions, I'd say nothing is wrong. Your T4R is an automatic, yes? That's certainly not going to help MPG.
The hitch will only make a difference if there's a trailer attached to it!

Its so rough too, I used to think Americans had bad gas prices until has went up to $1.30 per litre here. thats $4.90 a gallon in the US. and its been this way for a LONG time. I've found "cheap" gas stations that sell it for 0.99 cents a litre but I sometimes question how much mpg I am getting out of the " cheap " gas

1993 3.0l 4x4 Pickup 5 speed with stock 31X10.5 tires, EMU heavy duty lift kit, LC headers 16.3 to 19.1MPG (US). This is on the highway with a 750 to 1000 pound load driving at 120Km/hr (75mph). Hoping to get back up to the low 20's, 323,000km (about 206,000 miles). Subtract 1-2 mpg if driving into the wind or winter time. Have second tank where spare used to be which makes calculating fuel economy harder, need long trips. Because of EMU heavy duty lift kit truck must be always full or empty to do fuel economy, rear end drops 2 - 3" with full load.

Well it looks like the 3.4l does not get way better fuel economy some people have stated. Do wish I had another 40 - 50 HP. Toyota should have done better on both of these V6 motors a 2VZ have more power than my little 3.0l.
