OK so now not only does the steering wheel not shake, but that horrible rattling in the front almost completely vanished.

Here's the question: My friend has some fabtech 18" Ranger springs. Can these be used as alternatives to Downey coils? He says he'll let me have them if the fit.

How about the size of the length of the Downey coils?

 

I'm not sure. do you have some stockers that you could compare the od's of the top and the bottom profile to? Or if he's close enough, just slap one on and see if it works.
