What could have gotten messed up?
Ok...Took the truck in to have the timing belt changed at the dealers a couple of weeks ago and I have a flex-a-lite fan. Now, I'm getting a weird problem.
After I got it back, the first thing I check was the wiring for the FAL; it was correct and the fan was coming on as it should. Later, I noticed the FAL fan didn't come on when the AC was turned on so I thought the problem was the AC idle up lead. After more digging, I realized the AC only would come on when the FAL fan was on - AC button pushed in/blower on. After even more digging, I realized the AC comes on when EVER the FAL fan was on!!! even with the AC button out and the blower OFF. I disconnected the idle up lead the AC doesn't work at all now.
Seems like something got switched, but I can't figure out what. Do you think there is a diode in the FAL circuit that got shorted and is letting current activate the AC, but why doesn't the AC work w/o the FAL?....just thinking out loud...any ideas are welcome.
