I cant find anything in my Haynes as to what this is. Any ideas?

 

That's the vacuum adjustment knob...

idle adjust for the ac. controlls the vacume used to control idle with ac running.

I was just starting to have the brake/idle problem too. Thanks a Million.

I know this is a very old thread but i think i am having the brake/idle problem too. The link in the thread seems to be broken is there any ways that someone can provide a new link or if they remember. Possible fill me in on what the link may be
