Which way does the orange and black check valve go back on?

Which way does the orange and black check valve go back on?
I wasn't thinking today and I pulled off the little orange and black vacuum check valve on my 2.7L to take a look at it. Totally forgot to note which way it goes back on: black side towards engine or orange side towards engine. My manual is lost in a box somewhere after our move.
Someone want to help me out?

Found it:
"Reinstall the check valve with the orange pipe facing the EGR vacuum modulator side."
