Water pump changed or not?

I checked the cover to see if there was a sticker, but there wasn't... Probably steam blasted off to make everything look nice when I bought it...

People say that the bolts holding the cover, thats over the timing belt and waterpump, should show wear if it has been serviced. So far, I haven't see anything.

I'm wondering, could I take off the cover and see (physically) if the belt and water pump have been or needs to be changed?

Thanks a lot.

you can, look for leaks like dried red or green antifreeze..

to me it looks like you need to go ahead for good measure and do all the stuff i listed. esp since you want to keep that thing past 200k.. bc if that motor overheats you might as well trade it in and take the loss imo. bc yota head gaskets are its weakness..

Got it, I will do that after work today. Thanks for the help mkgarrison5.
I will most likely get all the things, you noted, done at a local shop. I don't have enough tools, myself, to do a whole lot of do it yourself work, sadly.

If you are unsure and mileage dictates it, change the WP.
It will be money well spent.

Not really. It will be hard to tell if the belt is old or new. But if you've torn it down that far, your half way there to chaning the pump and belt out anyways.
