Steering Rack Replacement

This is the first time that I have posted, but I have doing a lot of digging around on this site and it has been very informative. Thank you for sharing all the knowledge. To get on with the story..... I recently picked up a 97 runner that I think needs a new steering rack. Found an old thread on here from February 2005 that discussed this issue and it referenced Buy Steering.com that has them at a decent price. I gave them a call and they were willing to drop the price down to $295 from $350.
Can anyone provide me a little more info on how to install the new part?
Thank you in advance.

I've replaced mine twice.
Here is a good thread/how to.

Also check out these threads.

While you have the new rack out of the truck I would/did replace the new rubber bushings with a set of poly bushings.

Its really not that bad to do. Make sure you have the right tools, especially line wrenches for the hoses

My second link was a search. Do an advanced search with: KEYWORD-steering rack, USER NAME-Gerdo, SEARCH IN FORUM-95.5-2004 Tacaoma & 96-2002 4runners. You will find some more good info.

Homebuilt! Sorry, I barely have time to build my own stuff. I still have to finish my rear bumper. Build a front bumper for my 4runner, one for my son's Xterra and one for my other son's Jeep TJ. It may be available when I build my front bumper. I'm very happy with how it came out but the stock bumper is the weak piont.
