Man Krash thats been a while since I posted something about that. Anyway this is what I baught and from the same seller. I didn't have any problems with him. I havent got mine installed yet. But I helped my buddy install the same one a few weeks ago and he loves his. Its pretty sweet. You may or may not want the power door locks though. You should be able to buy just the alarm for about 20 bucks cheaper. If you need anything else you can pm me.

vato, as much as I like the mud on my truck, I am sooo jealous of your "blingin'" shine. Nice work. I can't wait until warm weather comes to the Ohio Valley once again.

Speaking of warm weather... I am off school for a week (February/Winter break) and am going to KEY WEST, FL!!! I'm really excited about relaxing, partying. and being warm in general. First time i've been on vacation in a looooong time. Going w/ friend and his family. CAN'T WAIT!!

we've had some of the coldest weather ive seen in a while this past month or two and i wash my truck almost every weekend. the key is just to make sure you dry it off really really well. if the weather is ridiculously cold, i skip it and wait for a bright sunny day thats at least close to the freezing mark.

ive had no problems and she looks great!

I finally took mine to get washed this weekend. One of the many things I hate doing; washing my own vehicle--I don't have the patience.

The last time prior to this weekend's wash was in JUNE of last year and as a result, most of my paint is getting really bold. The shine is coming off, most noticeably on the hood and along the front panels.

I will take it to get it waxed within the next few months.

Also, there are a ton of scratches that I don't know if too bother to get them off or not. It'll be the same withing months again.

Typically, I don't worry too much about washing my truck. I should however, at least once a month or something along those lines. That way, the paint will last longer, in addition to the care of the truck.

Was covered in salt for months and it was white but now it silver again, just the other day I parked it outside for several hours in the rain to wash the salt off, the weather is getting better where I can wash it weekly, my cut off for washing the truck is 40 degrees I did decide to wash it a month or so ago but the water froze on contact with the body:pat: so I put it back in the garage.

I can't stand a dirty vehicle but I hate freezing outside

I use those too. Quick and does a half decent job of ridding the salt bath.

It's been cold as hell here in PA and I've been using the automatic car washes. It's $4 for the cheapest wash, which is just soap and rinse... good enough for me.

Anyone see the new car washing liquid that requires no drying and gives off no spots? Can this really be true?

Living here in Denver and dealing with the mag chloride I at least run my truck thru the car wash or hose it down after every storm if there's 3-4 days till the next one.

I've been waiting over 2 months to wash the rig. Entirely covered in salt at this point. I think this Saturday is going to be the day as the forecast is saying 40*.

I haven't washed my truck in about 3+ months! The weather has been so crappy here (under 30 degrees, so it would freeze) there was no point.

Just curious for those of you that regularly wash your car, has the northern weather stopped you like it has me???

I should snap of a pic.
Dammit! I clicked on this thread because I figured, "oooooh, Burtman washed his truck, should be a couple of pics of hot ass babes all soapy and wet washing that 4Runner."

What a disappointment.

Mike

BTW, my truck still has scratches in the paint from last March...

I wash it when it's dirty, just like summer. Only time I don't is when it's -20 F or so, since I have seen glass shatter at that temperature when hot water is sprayed on it.

The trick is to keep your locks and seals lubed. Some carwashes around here dry your jambs and blow out the water in the locks and mirrors with an air gun, that seems to work well.

You also need to make sure your vehicle is good and warmed up before you wash it.

I find it amusing that some of you don't dare wash it when it's below freezing. If that were the case around here, the carwashes would be out of business!

There's one running around where a chick is washing a 4runner!?! The only one's I've seen are of the chick polishing the rims on that black mustang.... Thats alright guys, there is a sportsbar near where I work, they have one heck of a car wash from the pics I've seen on the walls of the bar. I plan to get the truck quite muddy and take it up there, maybe on my 21st birthday since its in June when its warm....
