I went to buy some new rotors for my 2004 tacoma ext cab trd limited. They asked if the truck had vsc or not. I didnt think it did, but wasnt sure. How do i tell?
Apparently a 2004 3.4L Taco preRunner with 2wd had and option for VSC, after that 2005 Most Taco's have a picture of your truck doing a burnout that says "OFF" you have VSC (vehicle stability control), I guess some Taco's had automatic VSC that can't be turned off, the truck will also usually have A-Trac, RSCA & RR Diff Lock usually included with VSC for offroading, I do not think the 2004 4x4 Taco came with the option, try to do a burnout on gravel and you will know soon enough, ABS will activate acting like you have LSD in the rear. Here is a pic of my dads loaded 2012 Taco, they changed the set up quite a bit..
