Vent control knob question

Vent control knob question
I've been meaning to ask this question for a while...
I can't figure out how to get my vent control knob to turn to the dash vents, illustrated by the arrow aiming at the head of the person icon.
In this picture you can see the knob is in the "split floor and dash vent" setting, but it will not turn counter clockwise to the "dash vent only" setting. WTH, why have the option if the control isn't supposed to go there?

I can force it most of the way there, but it feels like I'm going to break it! Anyone else have this trouble?

erich,
it should be very easy to turn it. you should just remove all those knobs and then remove that hvac face plate. look in the tech section at either of the 3rd gen radio removal/installation writeups for step by step
if you cant see anything thats preventing it from moving, id remove the entire center console, remove the stereo, and look from underneath.

I have a couple other projects that require the removal of the stereo, so I'll put that on the list
Thanks

has it *never* worked properly? if so, i'd check the routing of the cable. i believe it's a sheathed wire cable and if it's foreshortened, perhaps by the insertion of an extra-deepradio or some other component, you may have some issues in fully rotating the knob. just a thought...

It's never worked since I bought it a year ago, so who knows what is causing it. I was just pondering it in the shower and maybe I'll find something cool stuffed in there like a wad of cash
It could happen
