V6 running like crap

Hey my truck is running like crap and I dont' know why. When I parked it on wednesday it was running fine, it sat until Tuesday then when I started it up it was making this loud popping sound, I found that one of my plug wires was loose so I put it back on and that fixed that problem. But it now rattles quite a bit (sounds like when my timing belt tore/cracked and rattled against the tensioner) also there is a very rapid clicking noise that sounds like a rock stuck in something but its coming from somewhere in the left cylinder bank. Also it now hesitates alot when accelerating hard and is way down on power. When you're accelerating it sounds very american, loud and unrefined, so I just nurse it around because the noise isn't as bad or maybe not as noticeable at low rpms. Anyone have any ideas I know this is kinda vague but I dont know what to do. A couple other people and myself have looked at it and done anything we could think of and it hasn't help. Thanks for the help.

Might want to check the spark plugs and wires for that bank of cylinders, sounds like maybe one plug isn't firing. It could also possibly be a bad/dirty injector if you have EFI

Perhaps the 394,000 miles is getting to it?

I would also check that the distributor cap isn't cracked. Had that happen to my 3.0 a looong time ago. I also second pulling the spark plugs and make sure they aren't cracked or fouled.

Check that the belts, pulleys, and fan aren't rubbing anything.

Checked the plugs and wires, all seem to be fine. I replaced my plugs and cap about 1,000 mi ago. There doesn't seem to be any running. I was listening to it again today and it sounds like its coming from the valvetrain near the back. Any ideas what a rapid click from that area would be? It gets faster as the motor turns faster.

From the pages of the almighty FSM.....:
Check valve clearances
Vacuum leaks
PCV hoses
EGR valve
Intake Manifold
Air Intake Chamber
Throttle body

Pulling in air between air flow meter and throttle body
Fuel Sys clogged
Air cleaner clogged
EFI Sys problems
Emission Control Sys problems (cold engine)
EGR Sys always on
Engine overheats
Low Compression.

I left out the checkin the plugs, wires cuz you already checked those. Hope this helps
