Under Construction: SC Group Buy!!

Hi All,

The day that many of us have been waiting for may be near...

I've been talking with a guy from my dealer about the possibility of a quantity discount on 4Runner SuperChargers. He said that their profit margin is low for the SCs, but if we can get a good number of orders (maybe 20 or so?), he may be able to work a discount... like about $2100. The more we can get, the better our the chances for a better discount, so please e-mail me and post messages here if you're interested. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY, please. I don't know about you guys, but I've been waiting for this opportunity for a long time... I need your help to gain leverage for a better price.

Remember, there's strength in numbers, and hopefully deep discounts as well...

Thanks,
Ryd

Dohh!

I just bought one for $2425 at http://www.tacomaterritory.com/jmpotm.html
They are a Toyota dealership and was the cheapest i found on the web. If you can't get a group buy together, maybe this could be your course of action. Although this is $325 more than what you were quoted, it is cheaper than anywhere I looked. My local dealer wanted $3,000!    Opps, I meant stealer!

I may be interested, keep us posted and try the dealer that David_Vestfal posted in his reply. Maybe we can get a better deal through him.

IMHO, the best way to do this is to have everyone commit a non-refundable deposit. I think that would be the best way to filter out alot of non-so-serious people.

You can try everything, I have been trying to hook everyone up with a group buy on these, and TRD does not give the dealers a big enough discount to be beneficial for us. A lot of you guys know me, and know that if I could I would hook you up with a deal!!!!

As the title states... this deal is under construction. I talked with my parts guy today, and I'd just like to get a solid number for him to work with. I'll continue to monitor this board for additional serious interest...

When we have a final number, and folks are ready to order, I'll give you all the contact information you need to place the order yourselves. I just don't want 50 people sending him e-mails or shooting him calls asking to buy a SC for $500 or some ˟˟˟˟˟ like that. As far as I know, we're talking about the latest gen SC. They are selling it for $2500. He said that he'd try to get the lower price, depending on how many orders I can pull together.

All you naysayers need not send me junkmail. If you're not interested, or you don't trust the deal, don't waste your time and mine posting junk. I'm just looking for a good deal on an SC, something I've been drooling over for some time... 'just thought that there'd be others out there like me.

Thanks to everybody else for the tips and thoughts.

Dave - you may still have the best deal going. Keep watching, and we'll see if this group buy actually gets anywhere... If it doesn't, thanks for shopping for the next best thing...

Beowulf - keep watching. I hope this deal works. Forced induction sure sounds like a whole lotta fun!

Bob - Thanks for the tip, but as I stated. When we're all ready to go, everyone will be able to place their order directly with the dealer. Will he ask for a deposit, or all of it up front? I don't know. That's a detail that will have to be ironed out. I just want to know how many people want SCs for the lowest possible price, and are serious about buying it for that price in the very near future.

Mike - I think I already addressed you earlier, but thanks for your support. I hope this works...

I agree, 2100 bones is quite a chunk of change, and maybe now ain't the best time for it, but what can I say? I was picking up some stuff from my dealer, and decided to ask the guy behind the counter about it since I was there. I wish there were $1800 deals to be had today. Let me know if you find any! But if not, this seems like as good a place as any to start...
