U-Joints...proof the devil exists
So I finally narrow down the rattling noise under my truck to a u-joint. Turns out its the second joint in my cardan. I tried to grease the joint, but the seal is bad and the grease just comes right back out, hence my problem. Question now is can I rebuild the cardan joint, I've heard yes and no. If I can is there a rebuild kit available for the center ball? Or is this going to be more of a PITA than it's worth? Thoughts

Not to thread jack, but I've noticed sort of a pulsing sound when accelerating or engine braking for a short period until I'm doing so for more than a second or two. What kind of sound exactly does yours make because I've checked out my rear and could find nothing that would vibrate like that. I checked by putting it into neutral whether or not it was related to drivetrain and it is. What is this most likely? U-joints?

dude,
normally people on this board are very helpful and respond quickly on the answers, but please do the following:
first, search.
second, if you need help, you need to let people know what you need help for. i.e. what model: taco or 4runner, they are different. year, they are different. engine, 4cyl or v6, 2wd or 4wd.
third, if you don't know what's wrong, take some pictures so others can figure it out for you.
without all the info, i can only guess something would help here:
