I had a blow out yesterday on the way home which has made me think about new tyres all round, but before I do that I was also considering putting the spare tyres that I got with my 92 4Runner on. The only problem is that the current tyres are 26570R15's whereas my spare set is 20570R15's. Would there be any problems / issues getting these fitted to my baby?!

Ok let's just clarify what you're asking.
1) Is the spare tire already mounted on a spare wheel?
2) How long do you plan on keeping it on for?
3) Are you 4wd or 2wd?
Reasons I asked, it should be ok to put the spare on for only a short time, I can see that it's a lot smaller than the normal ones (I'm in the same situation with my spare being a 225/70/15 and my regulare tires being 265/75/16) but if you put the spare on the front and drive to the local tire store you're ok. Just don't drive on it like normal or any road trip or anything.
Just remember to put the spare on the front and switch one front to the rear.

Well no bother now - I found a local tyre dealer who had some tyres in stock to fit and I got them fitted. As it was more bother than its worth trying to find a friendly tyre fitter to put on my spares.
