"TUNE-UP" Pricing Question
Hello board,
Given that a "tune-up" is a relative term, I wanted to know how much I should be spending for the following jobs on my 97 4runner SR5 4WD V6 (100k mi):
* Timing Belt Change
* Water Pump Change
* Belts change
* Hose change
* Fuel Filter change
* PCV Valve
* Dist. Cap & Rotor
* Spark Plugs
* New Wires
(anything else I may have forgotten)
BTW: I live in the Chicago area. Thanks!

Timing belt/water pump/belts/hoses can be done together - I'd say your gonna get charged around 3-500 for labor on that..Fuel filter/PCV/plugs/wires...maybe another 200?? - I did all these things myself so I'm just guessing. Does a 97 have a cap and rotor?- I don't think so. I suggest a good injection cleaner-Redline SI1

Hello board,
Given that a "tune-up" is a relative term, I wanted to know how much I should be spending for the following jobs on my 97 4runner SR5 4WD V6 (100k mi):
* Timing Belt Change $225
* Water Pump Change $150
* Belts change $100
* Hose change $30
* Fuel Filter change $75
* PCV Valve $30
* Dist. Cap & Rotor: You dont have one
* Spark Plugs: $60
* New Wires $125 (more if you replace the 3 coil packs)
You can combine some of these things, and they should give you a break on labor. Have the timing belt, water pump, and drive belts all done at the same time, at least.
