I am only lifted about 2 to 2.5 inches over stock, do I need extended? From some searching, tt doesn't seem like I do. Where does everyone get their SS brake lines?

For the people who have done the upgrade it looks like over at many tacoma sites for example customtacos, many of the 6 lug tacomas are benefiting from the 16inch wheel 3rd gen calipers as there own "big brake ugprade" i love this hand me downs, tundra>4runner>tacoma hahaha

im running akebono remanned 199mm calipers with akebono act ceramic pads with brembo blanks. works awesome. no ss lines yet..hoping to do that on my next brake job. i also had to grind out some of the caliper to clearance LC wheels. when i rotated my wheels...the rears up front kinda got self machined for clearance..haha...

It been several months now on the 231 calipers with no problems. Best mod I've done next to the TRD supercharger.

Ok Has any one done this mod on a tacoma? All I see are Runers doing this mod. My 98 taco with 15" ers suck in this area.....was thinks of doing this mod and juming up to either a 16 or 17 sequioa or tundra factory rim? Any suggestions.....And if at possible I would try and go biggest right off the bat. My wife hates my taco soley for the fact the braking sucks.....thanks

sorry for the hijack

You will need to go bigger on the wheels. 15" won't clear either of the Tundra calipers. Otherwise they will bolt right on.

Ya I figured thats why I would grab a set of 16 or 17's....but was just most curious was there a difference with the tacos that would stop me. and do you think the 17 inchers would keep me from grinding to fit?

If you used Tundra or Sequoia rims, then you shouldn't have any issue with rubbing or fitting the larger 231mm calipers.

I have a pair sitting in a box but haven't looked at them yet.
Do the calipers have any markings to know if there 231 or 199?

If SS lines work wonders on a truck like they do on a motorcycle, I'd definately take the time to install them if doing a complete new brake setup.
