Tundra Brake Kit

Anyone ever use this kit before?

Amazon Amazon

My brakes are squealing, and this might be my cheapest way to upgrade.

Those should work as they are listed to fit a 2001 Tundra, but the reviews for poor workmanship aren’t that great.

Plus $170 for 2 calipers, 2 rotors, and a set of pads is REALLY cheap.

Parts SHOULD be around this:
Pads = $40
Rotors = $60/ea
Calipers = $75/ea

For quality parts you should be in around $300 give or take.

TBH, that price beats all the parts stores around here for just the calipers, so I’ll deal with a crappy set of rotors and pads for a couple months and then get the good ones.

Did you read the amazon reviews of the folks that had brake fluid leaking from the two halves of the calipers? There were 3 on the front page with pictures or videos.

it’s your money and your ride. Factor in, downtime a second time if you have to replace a defective caliper. Are you waiting on a replacement from amazon? Are you going to a local parts place and buying off the shelf? There goes your savings.

The poor reviews weren’t about pads squeal or rotor vibration. The bad reviews were faulty calipers.

No, and it was foolish of me to not read them. I saw this recommendation and shotgunned the forum for thoughts, and I will admit it was lazy of me. Just had a busy morning, and prone to short term memory loss due to medicines for my disabilities, and didn’t want to forget to ask.

HUGE thanks for pointing it out before I bought it.
