The Truth Revealed
Ok everyone, for those of you looking to throw an Optima Batter in your 3rd gen, here is the bottom line.
The orage top is no longer around...if you found one, have it tested as it has probably done some sitting around. The Orange top has been replaced by the 34-R, which is a Red Top with reverse terminals. See pics below:
I was hoping to hear that they were going to produce a reverse terminal yellow top, however, that does not look promising. Also, you will need a 800A, which is the adapter tray for under the battery (see pic above, red tray under battery)
Hopefully this answers all questions in relation to what the correct Optima is for 3rd Gen 4Runners. Please let me know if you have any questions!
