Truck may go up for sale, spread the word please

With my finances taking a beating recently i could use the extra dough and a more fuel efficient car. I'm thinking of throwing it up on auto trader and craigslist to see what responses I could generate. Anyways, here are some specs

$9,250 neg.
all realistic full/partial trade inquiries welcome

195k
new timing, power steering belts
brown leather interior

Negatives:

-Worn front seat bottoms, recommending replacements or covers
-worn steering wheel, cover in place
-exterior dent on tailgate next to passenger taillight (3" crease, no paint damage)
-exterior dent on right front fender (4" crease, no paint damage)
-OEM CV's either need boot kits (l&r) or replaced, have one oem kit that will come with purchase
-Paint damage behind sunroof due to roof rack wind fairing rubbing (rust prevented)

Pluses:
- Purchasing a Toytec endorsed vehicle, multiple off road affiliations (transfer of sponsor rights/discounts to be decided by me at time of purchase)
- Everything on the list in my signature, and the fact that the owner is freakishly on top of maintenance

Anything to help please let me know, thanks guys

ah man that sucks that you gotta sell er. seems like it wasnt to long ago u threw them 35s on. nice rig and i hate to see you gotta sell it. but itll have one happy buyer. but whatever you do dont trade it in. a cara lot will prob give you 6 tops. my dad new a woman that had an o4 runner woth about 25000 miles on it, went to trade it in and they would only give her 5k for it

yeah i'm sticking to private definitely, plus i would slap myself if i ever gave it to a dealership even if the price was good, they'd just sit there and scratch their heads at it.

thought i should mention as well that i will entertain proposals for full or partial trades, editing original

Did someone talk you into those new tires or what? Shame you're looking to get rid of it.

no the tires were set in stone before i decided to put her on the market, hooray for whoever buys it i guess. thanks scuba but in addition to you being across the country i'm looking mainly for a 98-02 honda accord (pref 4 door 5 speed) + cash. all future requests please send in pms. i need to sit on a car for a year or 2 then i'm going to rebuild an 02 pearl white 4runner the same exact way i did with mine. tell you what, refer the buyer and you get 100 bucks! (applicable to yt members as of this post)

12yrs old 200,000 miles fair at best condition $9,250?

The lots are full of 4Runners 3-4 years newer and half the mileage at that price. We are talking dealer prices.

I'd take half the asking and run!!

Well, KBB says $5500 for good condition, but, I'd think it would be worth much more that that with the bumper and suspension.

Might as well ask high, you never know who might have a hard on for it.

thanks for the input. the way i see it, sentimental value is worth a good bit in my mind in this case and for under the price i'm asking i'll gladly pay my needy car to run. if everyone says the price is too high i have absolutely no problem receding my offer and keeping her. the hard part will be convincing her i never thought of leaving in the first place

If you're asking for opinions, I think the price is too high in today's market. Remember sentimental value means nothing to the buyer. Around here, most dealers are bleeding SUV's & Trucks, they won't even take them in.

As someone who's "been there, done that", try to keep it & buy a cheap beater for a driver. I'm still kicking myself for trading in my '01 Tundra 4x4 Xtra cab TRD Limited. I was finally able to buy a '96 4Runner as a weekend warrior so all is right with the world for now.

Good luck,
Paul

From my experience so far, considering you have around the same thing that I have except I sold my ARB. You are looking around $6000 max taking in consideration of the body damage and higher than average milage. It is a sucky time to be selling anything unfortunately.

Good luck on your sale.

And try and pick a high school populated with kids that have rich parents.

You and I both know that your rig is worth the price you're asking, however, we also know that Joe public has no idea what you have in it. You're not going to get 9k+ for it. I paid 7k for my 96 with 93k miles on it one year ago. Don't get me wrong I'm pullin for ya, but I just don't see it happening. My advice has always been ask more than what you want, you just might get it!

Mods don't generally add to resale value I know and they really turn off a lot of potential buyers, but I have met a LOT of people who will in fact pay extra to have something thats already built to their desires. This truck is well-built and ready to be go pretty much anywhere someone would want to go. I'm not saying he will definitely get what he is asking, but there are people who will pay more for a truck like that then a stock one.
