Warranty

If you read that entire article referenced in the above post, it states that they cannot void the warranty for use of aftermarket parts on your vehicle. The part that seems gray is where it states that if you use aftermarket parts on your vehicle and they are the cause of the problem and they can prove it, then and only then do they not have to honor fixing the problem via warranty. Since TRD is not an aftermarket part and I am purchasing my TRD tranny cooler from the dealership for online prices, I choose not to be in the gray area and have to worry about dealing with a warranty discrepancy in the future. Just my personal opinion.

I have also read from the tech section that installing the Hayden requires the purchase of additional hoses to go on the Toyota fittings, as the Hayden hoses are generic and not large enough.

Brian,

I'm not trying to argue with you, just trying to save you a few bucks.... I think the only way you'd really be out of the gray area is if the dealer did the install for you. But then again, there's many-a-post you can find from people that have had a dealer install a TRD supercharger and still have had issues as to what's covered under warranty from Toyota vs. TRD.

Even TRD would be an aftermarket part. Here's something from the TRD USA web page:

"A subsidiary of Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., TRD designs and builds Toyota racing engines in addition to building and marketing performance aftermarket parts for many Toyota vehicles. "

I'm just not positive that the TRD name will imply any other warranty for you.

You don't need to buy anything else to install the Hayden. It fits without buying any additional hoses or adapters. It's also true as stated prior that adding any brand(and TRD is not considered OEM)of aftermarket will not void warranty. At least the Gov. did something right. If Brian wants to waste his money that's his biz. Maybe I can convince him to buy some ocean front property here in Arizona

Maybe you did have a nice property on the beach.....65 Million years ago......

I am tellin ya peeps, don't waste your money on the TRD and put it towards some ther mods. There is no gray area of warranties, the burden of proof is squarely on the dealer, not you. I have not had any trouble doing any warranty work with mine on.

Thanks for the link to the Magnuson Act.....not I have something to print out and show any disrespecting dealers.
