Just ordered the complete set for my 89, good deal. $185 w/shipping. That cheaper than Rancho's at Autozone. Apparently there are no TRD bils for my year, but it's still a good price for regular bils. Now I need add a leafs and my suspension wil be back to normal.

im lovin the ride. from what people said i expected the ride to be harsh. but it isnt bad at all. i think whoever said that they give a harsh ride is probably an older person. i took it a little off roading and it was so stable, it suits my driving style perfect. and the 4runner corners a lot better. steering is more precise.

get the shocks before they run out!

Did you have to get a spring compressor to install these on the front end?

I just ordered the rear pair, they were all out of the front, although they said that they might be getting more in next week. I'm looking forward to getting these on my '99 with 91K miles on it. Even if I only get the rear for now, I expect to feel a significant change.

Has anybody else only installed the rear pair, and how did it feel?

Oh yes....you need a spring compressor (for the front)- it's not an option - it's manditory.

Be prepared to destroy your rear OEM shocks in order to get them off...and be sure to spray bolts down with PB Blaster or the like at LEAST a week in advance. Installing the Bils....you can hold the top bolt and have a helper spin the shock on....that makes it go on MUCH quicker!

Duh - I wonder if that is why my order hasn't been confirmed yet!

BTW install is not hard. Rented spring compressors for free from autozone. All i need was a jack, couple other hand tools and a couple hours. Not to bad.

The rear shocks aren't that hard to remove, you need to use an open end or box wrench so you can then use and allen wrench to tighten the threaded shaft that protrudes through. There is a special tool just for this but why buy it when two simple tools does the same job? Put grease on the threads and it will help speed it up a bit.

That's what I thought. I called Roger at Cabe and spent about ten minutes making sure the deal was exactly as advertised. I did discover that my set were not TRD/Bils, but also that there were no TRD/bils available for my truck. Confirmed that this was a set of all four shocks, two fronts, two rears. Even asked him to get all FOUR together, put them in a box, find out what shipping wold be and then give me the FINAL FINAL FINAL total. Came to $185 or so. Called today and Roger said they shipped, I might have them tomorrow. If I get all four as promised, the credit card statement is for $185, and they fit my truck.. then the deal is what it is ...

Yeah I got mine at 160 shipped. They are the standard Bilsteins (#BE5-2450-HO for one of the sets I read off the box). Edogg listed this site earlier in the thread to show what the look like.

Just bought the last of the fronts!

Well, I just bought a set from Cabe Toyota, and got the last pair of fronts for the 3rd Gen! They're shipping them UPS Ground for under $158 total to Virginia, should have them in the next 10 days or so. Can't wait since my stockers have blown with only 55k on them.

I just tried to order a set of these online but the website doesn;t want to let me, I guess I will have to call tomorrow, this is a great deal, I was looking around for these for a while and the cheapest I found was shox.xom, but that was like $100 more.

thanks EDOGG!!!!
