TRD Cat-Back exhaust for 2000 models

Hi all,

I'm about to upgrade my exhaust system to the TRD one.
But they are telling me that TRD exhaust won't work in a 2000 model.
It will in 2001-2002 (Dual Cat - Converters) but not in a 2000 model.

Is anyone out there running TRD exhaust with stock headers in a 2000 4Runner??

Please let me know what is the part number for your exhaust.

TIA,

maguirre

If you have a twin cat, CA emissions 2000, it will fit. If not, the single cat systems need a much longer primary pipe from the only cat to the start of the TRD 'cat back'.

I know this cos my 99 was CA emmisions and twin cat and I had the system you are talking about. I was very pleased with it BTW, really sounded nice with my SC.

You could always have someone cut and lengthen the intake pipe to the TRD system.

It comes with factory stsyle flange connectors which would bolt right up to your factory cat.... just take it to a muffler shop and have em extend that first pipe.

Hmmm... I need to find the part number for it but I am running a TRD exhaust on my 2000 and it was a direct bolt on and I only have 1 cat. TRD makes 2 different systems. 1 for 1 cat and 1 for the dual cat models

save your moeny and get a Borla exhaust and keep the original tailpipe. Much cheaper. Either way the exhaust is awesome
