But I'd take it back and start looking for an answer from them.

Sent you a PM, Thanks.

Ok, got it replaced and it's not pulling the code and that shifting problem is gone.

It was the solenoid. Thanks so much for all your help.

Question Transmission Weirdness

First, this is a great forum and "Thanks" in advance for any help.

I read your posts with great interest. I'm glad you got the problem solved. I have been having similar probs with my tranny on a '93, 4wd, 6cyl., 185k

I was curious about the rebuild you had done. If I may ask, can you tell me why you had it done and what it ran you?

I have been debating on whether or not its worth the cost to have mine rebuilt, considering the high mileage.

Thanks again.

Yeah, they replaced it for free and gave me new fluid and a filter, but I had to buy the part. It was a pretty easy replacement, it took under an hour.

The part was $177 before tax. I wish I could find a way to make a part that was so small and charge a fortune for it.

The whole thing cost upwards of $1200 - but it made a 100% difference.

I'm very simple when it comes to autos. It didn't "go" anymore so I had it taken to the shop and they said it needed a new tranny. Before that it had very little power, the fluids were fine and I didn't notice any weird noises coming from it, so in my terms, 'it just broke'.
