trac off vsc trac how do I reset this?

2002 riding along and hit a raised man cover and my "trac off vsc trac and check engine lights" came on. My scanner won't clear it. Disconnected the battery to reset the computer.....no go. I have a "trac off" button, but do be honest I' not sure what that does. Don't want to go to the dealer if I can help it.........can anyone help?

Well you had to have hit something. Pull the codes and see what it is. Visual damage? No vehicle report when you hit a man hole cover? I work for a division of the city, that's a huge fine on the city's part. Big safety concerns on the public.
Also give a little more info when you post. What vehicle, engine, location really anything.
