towing an 02 tacoma double cab

so i am taking a trip to Moab in September. for safety's sake, since i'll have my daughter with me, i'll be towing the tacoma behind my 4 wheeling rig. kind of backwards right? i know, but i like having a back up vehicle just in case the old dodge breaks down. and my tacoma cant tow the dodge. there is a possibility that i will have a smaller vehicle to tow behind the dodge. but just in case i have to tow the tacoma, remove the drive shaft right? i know it says in the owners manual "possible damage can occur." but from what? it possibly going into gear while driving?

i have heard that you should remove the drive shaft off of automatics but a friend told me it's not necessary.

by the way, i'll be using a car dolly from uhaul, so the back wheels will be on the ground.

Rear drive shaft of any rear wheel or 4wheel drive.

Should be removed. In Towing we pull all the rear driveshafts.

As the driveshaft is always turning when the wheels are moving.

The reason to remove is for some reason the transfer case does not get enough oil .

In my case it is better safe then sorry .
