Sounds like you need a grille guard...I'm sorry that happened. I hope you get a better runner in the future.

The frame seems straight, it rolls around fine and the motor should start once i get the battery all hooked up. I know if i put a new body on it then it will just become a big money leech and will never be back to the way it was before. But to lay to rest a yota that really has nothing more than major body damage seems wrong to me.

Ive got some thinking to do.

and no i cant make it a trail rig, i need a daily driver.

x2 with Cxrazy. Buy a cheap commuter.

Not sure if that thing would be safe on the roads again, and a new body is pricey.

For the price of a new body, windshields, and everything else, buy an economy car and save some gas money to put into your new trail rig...

You gotta face it, you will not get anything if you sell it, and no body shop will want that.

Man Im sorry . I have been about an inch from hitting a deer before I know exactly how it is.. I was so lucky that the stupid deer tripped..

yeah and my fiance just called me.. someone just hit her in her moms new 4runner that she just got .. man...

You know what to do. wait for rifle season to open...

but after that, I would probably get a 4runner with a blown motor/tranny etc.. and swap all your running gear into it. If you look for a while you should find one around 1k. Do you have a place to work on it? I know a good mechanic in the snohomish area.

it looks to me like you just need a saw and a grinder and you'd be golden.

Can I come over? haha.

You could always take everything you want out then take it to kids birthday parties and make them pay a dollar to hit it with a big hammer. lol

Glad you are doing alright! Heck of a wreck. As suggested above, next time, filet that deer. This is the number one reason why insurance companies support extended hunting seasons...

I know you have heard this plenty of times but you are lucky, the drivers side roof could have just as easily looked like the passenger side.

Good Luck with everything...

If it were me I think I would start calling around junkyards, Swapping the bodies doesn't sound like such a bad idea to me, granted I have never done it. It doesn't take much to total a 96-98 4Runner. Maybe you could pick one up cheap with front end damage, maybe have a body shop fix the inner fender(s) and core support. Then just bolt stuff on from there.

dude that relly blows. glad to hear your ok though. I know what you mean about having all your money into her. I have saved and paid for everything on my truck including the truck itself. I wrecked it once into a rock and I know what your feeling. Fortunatly mom & dad were covering my insurance as well and they got me full coverage. If I were you, I'd buy a cheap DD, save your money, part out the old one and start over fresh when you get enough $$$ to build an even bigger better 4runner. Good to see you had your belt on.
