What are the thoughts regarding the addition of a Revtek top out spacer to an otherwise stock 3rd gen front strut assembly? Are the available threads on the three studs sufficient, or is the general consensus that there should always be additional threads remaining?

As far as I know, the Revtek spacer is 1/4" thick, and the available threads are somewhere around 1/4". Does this qualify as Ghetto Engineering, or should I consider a set of the longer studs offered by Revtek?

You may want to consider going with a daystar kit. They have a top-out spacer option that gives you 1" lift. The longer studs come with the kit.

Call up wheeler's offroad and they can hook you up and give you full details about the kit and others.


Another option is to go with protechezlift. It gives you 2" lift but it is a bolt-on kit, and it gets some good recomendation from members here.

Timber & 4Route - thanks for the thoughts. I only want 1/2" in the front (as pathetic as that sounds...). Hence the thinking to slip a 1/4" disc in there. Does NE actually make these also, or just ones with new studs attached?

I just added the top out spacer to my SAWs, so I didn't need the longer studs. But at first, I ordered them with the studs, it was only around $12 extra for the studs. Just get the studs,not much extra for the added security. With the short studs and spacer you may have one of them not hold on enough and come loose.

 

Try calling wheeler's offroad. I think they can get you the Revtek spacer too.

NE just makes the spacers ... nothing with bolts attached. Talk to Billy (fourunnabilly) or email him at kegger187@yahoo.com ... he can make you any size spacer you want.

As far as timber's suggestion, I don't think that wheeler's offers the spacers separately ... I believe you have to order the entire kit. I do know, however, that they sell the Daystar spacers separately. See what the cost would be and get in touch with Billy, and see what he says. He can give you good advice regarding top spacers - whether you end up purchasing his, or someone else's.

 

Wheeler's has the REV-TEK top out spacer and longer stud kit. You will need the longer studs. Both REV-TEK and Daystar provide them in their kits. The REV-TEK spacers are zinc plated not painted so there is no corrosion problems. They are in stock and will ship the same day you order.

 

when i bought my kit, they didn't offer the top-out spacer separately. but, that's cool if they do. though it is not so true about the revtek spacers being corrosion resistant ... two days after mine were on they started rusting.

 

Anyone needing custom coil spacers just give me a holler and consider it done. Get me the specs and it is about a week turn around right now. We can make any size, any height, etc, etc......lata.
