Today's Tune Up
I took today off to tune up my 4Runner.
This Morning:
Just a few little things...Iridium Plugs, a New Belt, a Tensioner, a Guage...and I replaced the intake.
With a SUPERCHARGER I finally put it in
This Afternoon:
I got it used fron NRGETIC99, Thanks man! The install was cake, I was dreading it for no reason. Very simple.
My initial reaction is positive, I notice improved power through the RPM band. Especially around 3500-4000 rpms, I do notice some low rpm, high gear detonation. I am hoping once the ECU learns about the boost it will even out.
I'll keep you posted!

It runs great! I was wondering about the ISR and the Deckplate too. But I am at 5,314 ft in Albuquerque so the air is pretty thin.
It's actually running too good, my clutch is slipping pretty bad when I am crusing at about 2k rpms in 3rd or 4th gear and I take it into boost:cry:
So I guess I will be tuning that up as well.

Jim,
Glad it worked out for you. It technically took you about 3 months to install
How do you like the whine ? Trust me, after about a month, you won't hear it but your passengers will !
I now feel a small part of me lives in NM
Enjoy...my V8 is working out very nicely but I cannot wait for decent muffler, an engine that sounds that good HAS to be heard.

So did you notice any power with your tune-up?
Did you S/C come with that sticker on the timing belt cover? Mine is a 2nd gen (bought it in nov 02) and it didn't have that!

I have only put the timimg cover one one at this point. It's a nice vinyl decal. I'll let you know about the others when I put them on.

elnip, does your clutch slip at all?
Jayson, I think I will save those for you!
In fact, dont' be surprised if you come out one morning and they are on your 4Runner
