OK, I guess I should update you guys.

After about 250 miles, the ECU seems to be adjusting nicely. I don't have any pinging problems and very smooth power delivery.

One of the cool things is, it's like having 2 trucks. If you want to be mild mannered and stay out of boost you can.

Or if you want to drive it like you stole it it's a lot of fun!

I prefer the 2nd choice It's really cool to pull up beside a N/A Runner, Taco or especially a little ricer Honda or something and just spank it off of the light.

It really has a lot of power now! And, It is very cool to kick it into boost. Although, I can't wait to get my ACT clutch so I can really experience the power at all rpms (It's slipping at high torque).

I am going to Santa Fe tomorrow, it's about an hour drive all freeway. So I should be able to check out it's freeway performance. I'll let you know.

Jim,

I know it might still be too early to say, since the ECU is still learning, but any plans for additional upgrades, ie. injectors and such? I know Gadget seemed to recommend doing something to the tranny to prevent it getting burned out....

I have a manual trans, I think you are refering to a auto trans upgrade.

However, I do need to put in a higher performing clutch.

And for the NM guys, I hit the bottom of La Bajarra at 80mph (normal) and I had all the power I needed to hit the top at 95mph, I could have easily hit the speed limiter if it wasn't for traffic. I was amazed at the power.

All it takes is once!

I think you can now be officially deemed addicted

I have a buddy that lives in Rio Rancho witha burgandy x-cab w/SC that commutes to SF everyday and loves to blow by everyone up La Bajarra! When we get together it seems that we haul a** everywhere we go. LOL

NM Guys

Since this turned into a NM thread, the NM TTORA guys are getting together at Hooters in Abq on Mon 9/15 at 6:30 to chat and such I thought I would go over and meet them. Are any of you up for it?

Go by, Ask David (NM-Prez) how his truck is running. Whe I was up there, I hooked my BR-3 to his rig and did a little tuning to the SMT-6. That thing pulls hard for having 35" meats on it. They are
a good bunch. I've been involved with then for a couple of years now.

Thumbs up

I got to go for a ride in Jim's SC'd Runner today and is was "GREAT"!!

I love the whine of the Super Charger and it has been awhile since I rode in any vehicle that accelerated like that. It runs and idles very smooth and no pinging. He left with my extra Dynomax muffler so the next time I see him his Runner should be a bit louder and faster.
