Sports trucks sells the arb for the 96 to 02 4Runner for $1230Cad, so it's hardly worth the trouble with the shipping, brokerage, and exchange for Canada then I think.

Ok, so an "Authorized Dealer" that can't even get a pricing together in 2 weeks time?

Don't hold your breath.

About a few weeks ago I had sent an email to tjm in Australia and the price they quoted was a bit more expensive than the shrockworks bumber. I have deleted that email but I know it was some where in the vicinity of 1200.00 dollars give or take. At this point shrockworks seem to be a better buy as far as pricing. I am also anxiously waiting for the pricing on the tjm bumber, curious to see what pricing damon4x4 can give us.

There is no drilling required to mount the ARB to a 4Runner. But you do have to grind down the welds on the frame horns. 4" grinder makes it a 15 minute job. I had to space the horns out on my son's 4Runner with a hi-lift to slide the bumper on as well. Worth the effort. ARB is stout (we have had them on 3 other rigs). We looked at Shrockworks but were quoted 6 month wait and 50% up front; not a good plan in my opinion. TJM is nice, but for $1K or so you are better off going with a manufacturer who is committed to the U.S. market (ARB) or an independant fab shopfor something truly custom.

I'm very interested if I can get spare parts through them, maybe even replacement wings. I already have the bumper though.

The grinding has no effect on your ability to return 4Runner to stock form should you decide to sell the rig. Seriously. You are talking $40 for a cheap grinder on top of whatever you spend on the bumper. TJM ~$1K (or more) versus $850 (shipped) for an ARB and stouter side wings. Took us longer to mount the winch and controller than grind and mount the bumper (note to self, mount the license plate bracket BEFORE the bumper!).

If time or tools is a consideration, find your local 4X4 shop. Drop off your rig at lunch pick it up after work (class, spa treatment, whatever) and you'll never know the difference (except in the wallet).

The same offer was extended to all the dealers when they (TJM) left. I could do it as well. What is required is that you the dealer buy at least one entire shipping container full of bumpers. Well over 100K investment. You pay truck shipping to the port in AU, then ocean freight, customs broker in LA, truck freight to your location. This with build time is 6 months.

The MSRP's were close to Shrockworks, that is what everyone was SUPPOSED to sell the bumpers for. But all the online companies under cut each other and it ended up being an extremely small markup. Take your woman out to a nice dinner for two at a chain and the markup would not even cover that. (T-15)

If you bring a container in the dealer will have no choice but to charge the MSRP.

I have installed every bumper known to mankind, I have modified every bumper known to man kind for a body lift.

That being said the bumpers from Australia are nice and well priced for factory pieces. The Shrockworks bumper is correctly priced for a semi-custom US made piece. They are all very nice bumpers. If someone invests in the TJM container the prices will be on par with ARB or slightly more as ARB imported their own bumpers.

If you bought a TJM when they were available you got a hell of a deal. That will not happen any time soon.
