TJM 15 + winch

TJM 15 + winch
does the TJM T-15 require anything additional to add a winch (besides the winch 
). i saw on TJMs website they sell a winch plate, didnt know if i needed that to mount a winch.

I don't think you would need to have a winch plate because you have a steel bumper. So far as I know, a steel winch plate is required for all alloy TJM 15/17 bumper if a winch installed. You might need to contact Mike at Xtreme Offroad to verify that.

I have one of those hinged license plate holders, nifty little item. I modified mine and if I had a digital camera I could show you what I did. I cut the plate lengthwise just below the upper plate holes. I attached the lic plate using the lower two holes. Now the license plate is mounted above the roller heads and I don't have to flip up the holder to use the winch.

I got it through 4x4 Connection when they installed the TJM and winch.

I just got mine a few weeks back, through 4wheelparts, free shipping, with Hawse fairlead. I've still yet to remount the front license plate...

i ordered my winch from 4WP.com for $499 + $10 handling. then i also got some AmSteel 5/16" x 100' synthetic rope and an aluminum hawse fairlead from LOR.
now i need to find someone to get the hinge cover from.

I saw and liked their hinged cover, AlanH on the board showed his off at the Yotatech Fall Colors run we had here in WA. Having to drop the TJM was a pain, and the only way to get to the mounting locations for the winch very easily is to spool all the cable out. So, the odds of me taking everything down again install a new cover are slim to none. I'll either make something up myself, or just mount the license plate somewhere on the side. Plus, I like showing off my winch, makes me feel all cool and stuff.
