tires

Im putting a 6-7 inch suspension lift and a 3 inch body lift in my truck, they say 36s can fit with just the 6 inch lift how big can i actually go? Im thinking about buying the super swamper irok tires, anyone have those or recommend a good tire for mudding?

why on earth do you want 10" of lift??

for comparison, i could make 36s fit on my truck with a 4" lift and some fender cutting. lower center of gravity is the way to go!

I would think that you would need more than just a lift for such large and heavy tire.

Example: steering components, maybe even axles.

I'm sure KYLE could fill in.

I'd love to have a big ole truck like that...but as the height grows, so does your debt. The biggest that I will ever go, not even sure I'll go this big is as big as BigBadBlue's truck...about 7-8 of lift with 35's. Thats the ideal height...but I will only end up doing about a 3" OEM lift like waskillywabbit has done and then get front and rear lockers and 33x12.50 mudders and be set...so many options so little money...this sucks!

36s will chew up the ifs pretty bad. the general consensus is that 33s are the max, though a few people successfully run 35s(bigbadblue).

if i had an ifs truck, i'd definitely be headed in the direction of an SAS with crossover steering, fender trimming, upgraded brakes etc if i was going to run 36s. i have it a little easier since i already have a straight axle, but i'm still going for crossover.

36s will work for you...but be prepared to start going through a lot of front end parts. and not to mention regearing

and as for the original question...if you want an all out mud tire go for swamper boggers. the only downsides are cost, lack of lateral traction and they wear super fast. so might not be the best option if you do a lot of road driving

BAH! Thats a lie! I have Q78's on with ZERO lift Us first gen pickup owners have it sweet, (see sig for size in inches) It doesnt flex very well, but the weight helps downtravel and the truck is still super low, has great stability.

If you want tires for mud, go with either TSL's or boggers. IROK's do pretty good in mud, but not as good as TSL's. Boggers would be the ultimate choise, but you dont have enough power to be able to spin them fast enough to steer very well. Steering is one of those things that you generally like to be able to do.

If you are going to just keep it open in front, you IFS will survive. It may need life support, but it will live. If you can weld and fab, the best thing is SAS, but that isnt for everybody. Some people like their IFS and insist on pumping tons of money into it. But expect things to break now and then if you run 36's

I dont really have the money to do it all at once. Lifting the truck and doing everything else to it may take a long time. I cant wait till the end result. Im aiming for a big truck, I want to be noticed when I drive down the road. I dont know about where you guys live but there are not very many girls who drive lifted trucks up where I am. I know there are girls around that do drive them and I not the only one in the world. I want a truck that can go anywhere and not get stuck. If I do the 6 inch suspension and 3inch body lift I"ll have myself a mini monster truck and I'll be able to drive over little cars if they make me POed. hehe
