TinBender's build-up

I took a few days off from work and went to TDS to lend my assistance in the TinBender's Build-Up. The proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the legal fund to keep our trails open. There is nearly $18,000 in parts that were donated to this project and ticket sales this weekend was just over 1400 sold, but you can still purchase them online till Monday March 21st at www.tinbenders.org only $5 each!

The winner of the raffle will take delivery of this turn-key rockcrawler out at the Toyota Jamboree April 23 and lead the group up the trail Wrecking Ball.

I assisted in the grinding and cleaning up of the frame after the IFS was cut off, in fabrication of the half doors and many other things. There were many Jeepers that came by with broken driveshafts, leaf springs, axles, diffs.....etc. We helped fix what we could and only charged them with the obligation to purchase some raffle tickets.

A stock 88 Toyota pick-up was driven into the work area at 8:37 a.m. and work stopped at around 6 p.m. Friday evening, becuase we were way ahead of schedule and wanted to leave some work for the spectators on Saturday. After a heavy night of partying, Thanks to Essentially Offroad who drove out from Tennesee to install their incab roll cage, then drove back Saturday morning. They also brought out so good ole' southern moonshine

The work day on Saturday started out slow, but quickly picked up pace. Mostly I had to finish up the half doors. Then all the small odd and ends needed to be done as well. The total build up took aprox 15 hours!

I grew up near Springfield Mo and the shine from Arkansas was kick a$$. Unfortunately I had to pass on drinking this weekend. But Krusty, who was our trail leader up Aftershock last year nearly passed out. Saturday night we had to go out and recover a Heep Wrangler that blew up a diff carrier, I'll post carnage photo's later.

the raffle requires you attend the event in order to win the truck

No need to attend the event to win, but you need to arrainge for someone to take delivery of the truck at Hammers, AFTER I take it up Wrecking Ball

Considering you"ll have a month for planning, I'd get a plane ticket out there for a truck that has almost $20,000 in parts......

Yea, I thought so as well, so when they decided to do it at TDS instead, I made sure I got a few days off from work. The TinBender's are a great bunch of guys, so any help I was able to offer was worth it.

Hey Bruce, I noticed in the back on Off-road magazine that Total Chaos is using a pic of your truck. Sweet!
