Thule racking up the runner...
K guyz I need a quick answer here. I'm looking into buying a fit kit for my ma's old thule rack for the runner. In order to modify the old feet obviously a new fit kit is needed made for the 4 runner gutters. My question is are all fit kits made compatable with all thule feet. The kit includes the extension specific to runner gutters, but will they fit my old feet. If so great....it'll save me lots 'o coin, and speed up my racking by a few months at least. So lay it on me ......

depending on the year of your runner you may need longer bolts for the feet. My 90 took a fit kit and longer bolts. I got them at rack attack on 5th or 6th in Vancouver.

Nomaly a "fit kit" will fit a Thule bar to the specific application... So, Yes.. BTW, the track used for the 4Runner is a very common one and fit's many rigs..
Here is a tip for you.. The stock sliding nut plates are way stronger than the "flip in" ones that come with the Thule rack, have at least 50% more grabing area and are threaded 6mm the same as Thules allen bolts.. Bottom line, remove the stock cross bars, bolt the Thule into the stock bolt plates... it will be alot stronger this way..
PS, the Thule ones also bent my tracks when I tightened them up because of how they grab the track...

Thnx for das tips
Thnx for the tips guyz, I actually cruised on over to the thule web page, ran the make model year of my Ma's old toyota, and came up with the same foot serial number, so with a little educated guessing I figured they were the same feet, just different extensions. So, thnx for the low down on what to watch out for, eep, I'm not to keen on bending my gutters, gotta be careful there.

Depending on how long you've had your gear, all fit kits are designed to fit a standard Thule foot. So when Thule gear is going from rig to rig, all you need to replace is the actual fit kit. At least that was the case 2+ years ago when I got my fit kit/feet/bars.
