throttle issue

i have a 2004 tacoma 3.4L auto 220,000 miles and mostly original and i have throttle issues

they are - step on gas and it goes no where as in theres a major hesitation like theres a air bubble in fuel line
rpms go up but no response in speed i have replaced fuel filter multiple times and i have done my plugs and wires and i only run 93 octane

i let off gas pedal and then press again and i get a response but with a rough response and then it clears and she runs
smooth for a bit 10 miles or so (i do lots of highway driving) on surface street it varies and is less and then i have to do it all over again

i live in south florida and its worse when the humidity is high and its hot out (which is most of the year yes i know ) mainly april - oct

i have been told its my throttle body but i i am very hesitant to believe that please help and ask any and all questions i WANT this issue resolved!!!

If the rpms rise with the throttle I would look toward the transmission!!

Is the cable from the throttle body to the transmission adjusted correct ??

Fluid level correct in the Transmission??

Maybe one of the Auto Transmission people will chime in I never learned how to drive those things so never owned one I had to work on.

Great wall of china! I hope the trans fluid isn't original! Few posts on auto trans issues recently.

I would guess that rig is throttle-by-wire. If so, there are a number of electronic components that could be the issue. Any check engine lights?
