Throttle body question...

Hey guys:
Bringing this thread back from the dead. I believe I need to replace the IAC valve on my '98 Tacoma. Can you remove it without taking the whole throttle body off? Maintenance manual says to remove the whole shebang, but I wonder if there's a way around that.
Looked in the Wiki/tech writeup sections and couldn't find anything. TIA
