You can only use the locker when you are stuck, and I think you can only go 5-10 mph. The 4X4 will help you NOT get stuck. 4-LOW and the locker engaged will get you out of situations where other trucks would be stuck! I wish I had a locker

How much should I expect to pay for these extra options. Do most 4x4's have a locker? Or only ones with the TRD package?

the locker only comes with the TRD package. You can buy aftermarket lockers though.
