Temp Guage wiring schematics

Temp Guage wiring schematics
I am hoping someone out there has the wiring diagrams for the temp guage. The guage is registering hot once I disconect the sending unit the check engine light comes on and the guage still goes above the red. I am asuming that as the guage is registering that the guage is fine. I am under the impression that the system is grounded out some where. If anyone can help out it would be greatly appreciated.

I am still having trouble with my temp guage. I have checked the sending unit it is fine I have also checked the pipe near the exhaust and it looks good. I was hoping someone would have the wiring schematics for a 1994 sr5 v6 runner. I am thinking it is grounded somewhere? when cold it shoots up to about half way mark and in seconds reaches maximum temp. The truck is not over heating. Please let me know if anyone has any idea about how to fix this?
