talk about carma

as a few of you might remember, i posted a thread on here regarding the amount of abuse that i have subjected my 1994 4runner to.Most of you responed in a negative way(even threatening physical harm to me)..Even though the comments i made were to illustrate the stoutness of my 4runner,many of you questioned my loyalty to the Toyota brand.

heres where it gets interesting.I have an 03 Silverado that decided it wasnt going to shift out of 1st gear yesterday..now this thing only has 50k on it..i bought it used last year and it has a warranty good till the 75k mark..so i tow it in to my local dealership today..while at the lot im wondering around scoping out the cars on the used car lot...and back in the corner of the lot sits a 1999 4runner...i take a closer look and i notice its the one with the hood scoop and one that as a differential hiding in the front suspention...i think to my self 'i could see myself driving this thing, never owned a 4wd before"

--this is the link to the 4runner mentioned above.

http://rydellchevrolet.cms.dealer.co...6c570c780f2e52

it think its clean...aside from the usuall small blemishes on the front part of the hood this thing has like 2 small scrates on it...is the difference IN POWER btween the 3.0 and the dohc 3.4 LIKE NIGHT AND DAY?and if it isnt im sure a roots blower might help it be

what do u guys thnink? should i buy it and leave the silverado where it belongs(in the shop)?

I highly value all comments from all the members on the board

Yes, the power difference is simply amazing. I just traded in my 93 3.0 V6 for a 99 3.4 V6. It is just simply amazing the difference that 33 HP and 40 ft/lbs of torque can do for a vehicle. Plus you will get better gas milage.

I say do it, that Silverado doesn't deserve a place next to a 4Runner.

And it comes with BFG AT already installed.
As long as you don't need a pickup for work, I would trade in a heartbeat.
And you can always get a small trailer or rent one for those times you do need to haul baulk items.

Ditto all the above! Good deal! When I went from my '90 3.slow to a 2000 3.4L, I was VERY impressed with the power difference. My mileage stayed about the same. Be sure to do some of the simple mods that give you additional HP gains (i.e., the ISR and Deckplate mods).

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I can't resist it, sorry. Did you mean Karma as in the total effect of a person's actions and conduct during the successive phases of the person's existence, regarded as determining the person's destiny ? Or was carma like a funny play on words like Car-ma since you are talking about automobiles and Karma?

oh yeah, buy the thing.

You better buy it before I do...and I am not just saying that.

*EDIT* Nevermind. The KBB on it in good condition is $10400 or so. Not as good as I expected. Maybe I put something in wrong.
