taking down add for mans need openion

Ok heres the deal. Im pulling my add this weekend and putting in manual aisian hubs. Ive decided on those. Heres the question. If I go to a yard for a used pair, how do I grade them? Last time I went I saw a few sets around. Also, when I pull them out at the yard should I take every loose ring and springs with me? I dont really wanna rebuild them. The other option (last) is buying new ones.
Thanks gang

You may want to consider tyhe Warn Premium Hubs.

They are very good quality and the price was very reasonable.

You know it's not as simple as just swapping the hubs, right? The knuckles are different as are the axle shafts...

Just making sure...

this depends on the truck they are going on to. These are so easy to do. A rebuild is basically cleaning them and regreasing them. Take everything that comes off of the donor truck. Unbolt the ADD hubs and slide the aisins on. You should be able to get them fairly cheap at the wreckers, mine were 10 bucks a side. I also took the chance to paint them while they were apart and clean. The only real hang up could be the cone washers. I used a three pound hammer on the old hubs and they popped right off. Try leaving the bolts on a lttle so they don't go flying across the room. Theres lots of good writeups on this and other sites. Don't shy away from it, as i think it's one of the best and easiest mods to do. I would try to stick with the Aisins as they are what toyota uses.

Steve

Up to 95 i think will take the Aisins anything newer needs new axles and knuckles

Ah... I missed the year on the rig in question... nevermind... I was thinking it was a newer rig, which is more complicated to switch over...

I love Warn hubs, but Superwinch is best for Imported 4x4's. My friend had to get a new set of hubs and he was gonna get Warn but he talked to a few 4x4 shops and they said that Superwinch is better for Non-Domestic 4x4's.
