Need a brake line extension and was wondering if the front IFS is the same on the Tacomas and 4runners. I have a 4inch Pro Comp lift and need to extend my front brake lines....if I get the package for the tacoma, I was wondering if it had the same connections, etc as does the 4Runners.???

I think you misunderstood...
All I need to know is whether the Tacomas and 4Runners use the same front brake lines and same thread/connections. Reason is, ProComp makes a brake line extension for the Tacoma lift kit (which is the kit I am using).

I left a message with ProComp but no one has returned my call as of yet... I need to know soon, cause I must have the extension before my rig goes into my buddys shop next wednesday.

FYI - ProComp does not make a 3rd generation IFS lift...thats why I am modifying this Tacoma lift cause it will work on my 4Runner.

I imagine that if you put a Tacoma lift kit on it, you could probably put a Tacoma brake line on it. But that is just speculation

nope. from my findings, the taco's all use a banjo fitting on their calipers, where the runners use the standard fitting...the ones they've been using on all 4wds.

some have used an adaptor to fit to the banjo fittings though, and others have use 300ZX brake lines that are apparently long enough for extended applications.

To be honest with you I don't even remember what the IFS brake lines looked like.

I can't go check either. Figure out what you need Male/Female or Male/Male or Female/Female and how long you need them and I can get you some made.

Not the cheapest, but they will be right.

 

What do you consider cheap? Wheelers Offroad has them for $66.50 per pair.

 

You're right that they use different fittings, but I remember not that long ago that someone did a Tundra caliper upgrade on a Tacoma by just using the same banjo fitting and bolt (but I remember they had to cut the banjo bolt because it was too long). I believe is does work, but you'll need to use new washers to make sure the banjo bolt seats properly.

you can source 300ZX ones or buy specific extended toyota lines. female/female ends approx 26" long 10mmX1.00 thread w/ inverted flare. ass posted earlier, wheelers has em, all pro has em, marlin has em, goodrich has em..etc. all for about 50-70 bones. rears are 26" long male/female end.

 

I recall this also. Search around for it....It seemed to work out pretty well.

I looked in the Toyota Parts program and yes it is a Female/Female hose. Now you need to figure out how long you need and if the off the shelf 26" ones will work.

 

You guys are supurb ... I will have a 4 inch front lift along with the 2inch body lift so I will have to check and see if a 26" incher will work... I think it should.
