I am in agreement. My one bitch that I fixed. The original seats on my d-cab were very uncomfortable. I replaced them with a set Recaros. I had reopolstered the seats to match the stock interior.

I bought the Recaros from a friend. Bought the brackets from the Recaro website.

I knew someone who was a mechanic and their shop hauled and fixed trannys. The had a 05 and used for hauling transmissions for about a year plus and the bed of the the 05 tacoma had some support issues and problems
. The beds of the 05 and up tacos are not as well built as the older gen trucks. Many of my friends who off-road with their trucks also say the 05 and newer tacos are too big. Personally for me after owning a 1st gen taco sequioa ,4 runner and now an 03 double cab taco. i really enjoy my double cab taco.
Also it gives me a smile and to know I have a well built when I see this thread check it out if you have not

Weren't some of the 01-04's built in Japan? Go for one of those....

That's why I bought a 4Runner.....

I believe all 05's and up are made in the US.

I would get a 01-04 just because it has the 3.4 motor.

Also, the current gen tacos are built with cheap materials, and it really shows. Have a few tacos in the family (of both gens) and the 01-04 is wayyyy better IMO.
