Anyone here remove their sway bar? If so, how does it handle in the city and on the road? I'm asking as upon completion of installing an after market rear bumper next week, I'll replace my stock coils on my coilovers with a set of progressive coils (650# to 800#) and I would like to just remove my front sway bar completely to give me a little more flex off-road. (I'll disconnect one side and ramp the puppy to make sure I'm gaining sufficient flex to make it worth while.) I feel the coilovers should provide me with enough on-road stabilization that I wouldn't notice any difference or at least not much of a difference while cornering or stopping. If no one has removed their sway bars I would like to hear some of your opinions anyway. - My vehicle is an '01 Tundra.

 

I think the front is scarry with the bar disconnected. It really leans on fast turns. Make your self some disconnects if you can.

 

i have discos for front and no bar in the rear.

 

Trail rig = Yes, I would - if any one feels strongly about roll over on trails and a bar might help, please chime in.

Town rig = Maybe, take 'em off and see if smooth and sway-ey is for you.

Highway Driven = I wouldn't do it if it were my rig. (I dont have any sway bars on, but then I don't have any highways either...)

 

yea discos would be so much easier, a friend of mine did his sway bar discos and it looked like it helped a lot while on the trails and was alot more convinient. He just stopped before we hit the trials and disconnected the pins. That's it!

 

yup, that was me that had the disco's. I got the Rockstomper ones, a little "clicky" but it's ok. I haven't put them back on yet, and I don'tlike the ride without them! I live in Indianapolis, so I drive the city a lot, andI would suggest keeping them on.
