swapping 3rd gen 4 runner body on to 2nd gen frame?

swapping 3rd gen 4 runner body on to 2nd gen frame?

has anyone done this, will it bolt up, any help would be greatly appreciated i have a 3rd gen with a damaged frame and would like to get it back on the road.

Lots of work for very little if any gain, better off parting it out and buying another one.
Right now parts are highly sought after and whole running trucks are getting cheaper, if you are patient you might get close to breaking even or at least not losing too much.

the only reason im looking into this is the availability of the 2nd gens with blown 3.0 liters there definatley cheaper to buy for parts, so im guessing the 3rd gen body doesnt bolt to the 2nd gen frame?

if u are asking this question, then u dont wanna even start with a swap like this. lots of modification to the body mounts are needed. fuel lines are wrong, if u swap in the 3rd gen tranny/t-case, the output is on the wrong side, its a nightmare.

i understand my problem is availability of 3rd gen runners around here (for parts) thanks though i need to get a frame for it so i may hit the salvage yards tomorrow to see what i can find.

thats what i needed to know thanks i just didnt know what my options were i am doing a sas and leaf spring swap in the rear so alot of this was going to be custom work anyway, thanks again
