Hi, I'm new to this forum and find all the info here are very helpful. I wanted to ask my own question concerning the suspension system. I have a 1999 4runner 2WD and just about at the 90k miles. Lately, the rear of my ride have been lower than the front and driving over 70mph makes it seem like the front is going to lift-up making it almost unstable to drive at high speeds. I've been looking at those coil spring spacers to put in the rear for a quick fix but since I'm at 90k miles I'm seriously considering a totally new suspension system. I'm a regular commuter on the street and freeways and almost never hitting off-road activities (as you can see 2WD only). I really just want a comfortable ride both front and back passengers (but not sacrificing a whole lot on the handling). I'm not looking at lifting my ride but just keep the height of it as stock as possible (a little lift is forgiveable). What is my best options out there without 'breaking the bank' so to speak. Please include as much info like the brand name, maker, website, etc. if any. Thanks a whole bunch.

performance products 1" springs with bilsteins may be better, they lift 1" but it will even out the front and back and give a better on road ride. might be a little $$$ though...

 

yea they are just as expensive as the tundra/ome lift

 

not sure if this is bs or not but I heard for the 2wd runners, using springs from the 4wd will give it a very slight lift... If this is true, you may want to just go get some 4wd rear coils and replace your shocks with bilstein HD's.

 

it is true, and that may help, but hes looking to fix sag, not lift. i think 4x4 coils might work fine though

I have a set of stock front and rear coils from my 2000 they had 60k when removed. I cannot guarantee they will lift or not. Make me an offer via PM.

What brand of springs are these? And if I understood correctly, 40 + shipping for rear and how about the fronts at 70 + shipping... why is the front cost much more than the rear? Or did you mean that 70 + shipping is for both front and rear springs? Sorry if I did not understood it.

 

Look at the sticky "Lift FAQ" and bamachem's thread on the TRD front setup. Tons of information on there. You can find it using the "Search" feature.

with a 2WD on the road, i'd put some 4WD springs on it and call it almost done. to finish that off, i'd get some air bags (firestone or airlift) for about $80 and use the manual fill valve that's included. you trim off the conical bumpstops so the bags fit underneath them. you leave them at about 5 psi and it will give you an incredible ride. loading it down for a weekend trip? air the bags up to about 15 psi for better control and zero sag...


you'll end up about 1" higher all around and a level stance.
