Help:

Before I tear down my entire top half of my engine to install my s/c...Im trying to figure out the vacuum lines. TRD instructions are pretty lame and it's hard to see where some of them go. I have figured out the ones on the drivers side ie: brake booster and canister vac lines. Im trying to find where the intake/air box ones go. They seem different than stock location. Anyone self installed and could give advice or can take some pics and send??? Do you need the 1/8" barb vac fitting on the back of the s/c?? I have a plug there on mine and the parts list states a 1/8" barb vac fitting but I didn't get one?? I know this is where you can connect the boost gauge but is it used for any other reason?? It just appears that there aren't enough places on the s/c for the stock lines to attach. Maybe Im just losin' it

By the way....this is a 2nd gen s/c going on a 2000 SR5 automatic.

I just installed the black SC on my 2000 limited. I was surprised how easy and complete the kit is. It is buetifully engineered. Gadget was right on the money when he proclaimed how much you learn about your truck from installing the SC yourself. Anyway, the instructions are top notch! Big pictures for the installation with arrows. Although I work on aircraft, computerized cars are totally new to me, and under the hood is a big mystery. With simple hand tools i was able to put the thing on. Just don't rush anything. Re-read the instructions and be sure you know what each installation step means and what it entails. I spent nine to ten hours over two days putting it on. I took my time... it was fun! On the back of the instructions is a 1-800 number and the guys answered my questions. There are diagrams in the back of the book showing where all the hoses go for your particular model and year. The boost port has a brass barb on it to be connected to the FMU on the return line of the drivers fuel rail. It appears they are taking cridit for Gadget's "free FMU" discovery. And after I was done it started right up!

Thanks for you reply. I installed yesterday in about 5 hours with no problems. I figured out everything and works great. Pretty impressive when I can do a burn out with a set of 285(33s)size tires. I need to take it to the dealer to make sure the belts are set to the correct tension and there are no vac leaks. I'll be posting pics on my site soon....

You can do a bunout? It that going in a straight line? I can only do one while making a right hand turn. Maybe the fact that I have a lot of weight in the stereo out back and 26575R16 tires. Probably too heavy and too much traction. Maybe you have a stick?
