You can put one on but it will be all custom and some big $$$$$ for it.

It would be cheaper and easier just to trade up to a 3rd Gen.

OK, then trade up to a Taco. I know I can help you get that thing making some real true fun power.

I like the looks of a 3rd gen truck better .. So why not have the best of both worlds a few years

You could always get the Tacoma S (4runner 3.4 v6 engine with 5spd and supercharge it) or the 2005 XRunner (300hp tacoma with supercharged v6 and manual 6 speed!)

Thats nice in thoughts but since im only 17 i don't think that will happen for awhile! Thats why i was thinking the swap after i get my truck paid off! Then it would be mine still and not the banks but have the power. Plus i think i like the body style of my truck better then a Taco.. They come in a close second though!

I have a few questions. In a year or so Im looking to purchase a new 3.4 motor to replace the one I have. By then mine will have passed the 200k mark and I will be interested in adding a supercharger to the new 3.4 prior to the swap. My question are as follows. #1 what can I expect to pay for a new or rebuilt motor? #2 what can I expect to pay for a TRD SC? #3 what type of shop should I be looking for to do the build ? Im certain I can do the swap but might have them do that as well. Should I be looking for a speed shop or maybe a shop that builds race engines?

Thank You

Aaron

Have you done this free mod yet? https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f130/airbox-modification-3-0-v6-engine-75127/ It will free up a few ponies or make it sound like it anyways.

Have you done the deckplate mod or the ISR mod?
Those both work on the 3.4

I'm guessing UKMyers posted that link for the guy who started the thread not realizing how old it was

Yeah but the deckplate mod sucks. I get worse gas mileage and it is annoying. But my question still pertains to the supercharger and where I might need to go to get the work done and such.

Yeah Im guessing thats the truth, it seemed to be the thread I needed, or so I thought, Im still trying to source this out, I was going to swap a 80's series cruiser V-8 but no one has mapped the new one so that we can be comfortable enough to use the 4.7. So im sticking with the 3.4 supercharged, I just had a few questions.

So anyway

Uhh the X has the exact same 236hp V6 that all the other 2005+ taco's do.... URD makes a supercharger that brings it up to 300rwhp++

Lets focus a bit on a thread I revived Im looking for the best way to go aout building a 3.4 with TRD SC. I found the URD injection kit a cool $999, I was also thinking while Im building a motor headers might be a good option too. Suggestions? I found a few motors on ebay btwn $1000 and $3000. I would prefer a NEW motor but junked under 50k is ok too. The SC seems pretty straight foward just have to get a shop o build it.

Ok I Might have been thrown a bone. My brother recently dead tacoma has a donor engine. His tacoma was involved in an accident totaling the rig and I think the motor may have lived. Assuming I can get the motor for not much from the insurance company, what other cost may I be looking at? Current price for SC, URD kit is $999, would it need any kind of rebuild at 100k?
