Stupid stock decals, nothing is more 80s!!!

An update:
After wasting another hour trying to peel paint off with heat and fingernails, I was fed up. I took my truck to an auto body shop to get an estimate and the dude obviously lied and said "it'll probably take 10 erasers to take all that off" and he wanted $200 for it.
I decided to try the 3m wheel myself, so I picked one up at a local paint shop and went to town on my truck. The wheel worked amazing for the side with the good paint (used to sit in the shade with the previous owner) and I got the whole side cleaned off in maby 15 mins! Looks great.
However, on the faded side, the clearcoat is pretty much all gone and it seems like the decal has merged with the paint somehow (lower level than clearcoat) I even tried a second eraser wheel and what happens is it polishes the decal, like its painted on or something. But only on that side? Must be from years of sitting in the sun. (I'm so pissed at the previous owner haha)
I'm running the wheel at 2500 RPM which is the max you should run it at and I'm applying light pressure. Even under heavy pressure it doesn't work.
I'm so dissapointed right now, my truck looks so rundown with faded stripes only on one side. Looks like I'll have to save for a cheapo paintjob or something. Any ideas?

Just an FYI, they quoted me $50 to remove the decals.
Thier paint jobs arent the best but they have 4 different paint packages to choose from starting at $300 Not too bad considering other body shops want $5,000

I have read hat spraying an amonia and water mixtue on the decals, covering them with plastic wrap and letting them sit fro about a half an hour works wonders.
I'm going to remove mine soon, but I just have the thin stripes under the windows and will be replacing them with solid color reflective tape.

I got all the sticky stuff off. Its the stripes themself; seems like the sun infused it with the paint or something. Its actually below the clearcoat (where there is clearcoat on that side). When I use the eraser wheel it first seems like it takes the stripe off, but the area where the stripe used to be is darker brown, after one more pass, the brown dissapears and a freshly polished stripe reapears.
