My friend has a question about his 98 toyota tacoma. he has the 2.7liter 4cyl. engine with a five speed manual. some times when the truck is running the engine dose a wiered studder or skip. its been going on for about two months now. he has 87k miles on his truck. The enging light is not on though.

sounds like its about time for a tune up.
replacing just the spark plugs,and wires can make world of difference.

im cccp friend with 98 tacoma just did spark plugs but still have the problem any other sugestions.

Dont just change the plugs,get some new wires as well,and if applicable,change the cap and rotor.
Ive had the some thing happen with many different vehicals,and a simple tune up always fixes the problem.

Could it be a fuel filter?

Fuel filter! I had the same thing and after I replaced the fuel filter it never happened again.
