Question Strange wire???

Hi there!

Dose anybody know why I may have a strange wire that has a 3 post male going into the side of my motor and about 2 1/2 feet of wire run along the frame to the front of the motor on that end it has a regular female plug in like an extension cord.?? Any ideas?? Did an alien put it there?

Thanks!
